WHY COUNSELING and/or COACHING

(In)fertility is complicated and brutal. When growing your family is your goal, hitting hurdles can be unbelievably painful and frustrating. This process is often unexpected, though not always, and can come with a bundle of decision making, grief, loss, and isolation. Being human is already difficult enough—between the obligations of daily living, all the relationships that come along with it, adding in this struggle can be all-consuming. Let’s talk it through. Whether you’re trying to sort decisions moving forward (coaching), or need emotional support around the process (counseling), I’ve got you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

My style is directive and solution-focused. My clients can count on me as their navigation partner, for an honest and direct approach and another human perspective as we work through the issues at hand. Our primary focus will be on developing strategies for coping, problem-solving, and sorting through it all. My hope is that coaching and counseling with me feels more like a conversation—one in which we will address the difficulties collaboratively. I will partner with you to figure out what approach might feel best, to tackle the tough stuff, take pride in your wins, and support your process.

Having a collaborative relationship (between you and I) and a safe and caring environment is key. Yes, I’m directive and clear, (you can count on me being real with you) I strive to create a warm environment, and humor and cursing are known to enter the picture. Therapy can be invigorating; sometimes joyful, sometimes painful. My ultimate goal is for you to feel better—some days that will look like digging in, other days dancing delicately.
